Tara was declared as a national park on July 13th, 1981. It covers an area of about 19.200 hectares. Due to its favorable climate and remoteness, Tara is home for rare relict and endemic tree species of the Balkan Peninsula, the Pancic Spruce and many other natural monuments that can be called living fossils. The average height of Mount Tara is 1000-1200 meters above sea level. It's highest point is Kozji Rid (1591 m) and the lowest (291 m) is Lake Perucac. The River Vrelo is the strongest karstic spring in the national park and it flows into the Drina River after flowing 365 meters. Tara River Canyon is 1330 m deep, which makes it the deepest canyon in Europe and right after Colorado Canyon, deepest canyon in the world. Last 18 kilometers of the river, before Piva and Tara makes Drina, are the most exciting - with over 20 rapids. This river is a challenge for all those who love water and nature, therefore there is a saying that "whoever have'nt drifft down the Tara river still does not know what is like when your adrenaline starts pumping" thats why your adventure must to be Tara rafting.
Arrival Belgrade Airport (early morning flight - Turkish Airlines). Meeting and assistance at the airport. Panoramic sightseeing tour of Belgrade. Lunch in the one of the restaurants in Bohem Quarter, Skadarlija. Bus transfer to Zlatibor, hotel check in. Overnight.
After breakfast at 07.30 drive from the hotel to Mokra Gora (off road drive). At 10.30 Cira train drive (Sargan Eight – the most attractive tourist narrow gauge railway with museum in Europe built in 1925). After train ride, driving to Mitrovac (off road drive 13.00 – 14.30). Lunch in ethno restaurant. After lunch continue to Predov Krst (off road drive) to the Biljeska Stena viewpoint which overlooks Drina Canyon and Perucac Lake. Return back to hotel (main road) around 20.00. Dinner, overnight. (optional- tyres change will be performed during the night).
After breakfast around 08.30 departure towards Uvac Nature Reserve. Main road drive to Uvac Lake dam and from there off road drive to Molitva Viewpoint. Walking tour from Molitva Viewpoint to Uvac Lake. Visit the Uvac Cave. Boat ride with lunch on board (home made specialities). After ride around 14.30 return back to Zlatibor.
After breakfast around 08.00 departure to Scepan Polje, Montenegro (bus transfer). Arrival to camp. Around 11.00 taking over the equipment ( life jackets, helmets, neoprene suits and shoes, paddle) followed by the transportation to Brstanovica ( the starting point for rafting ) by 4X4. Guides make a schedule of sitting on the boat and a short training about proper sitting, behaviour in the boat and paddling techniques. This is followed by the most exciting part of rafting on the Tara River lasting 3-4 hours with breaks for photo safari. At the end of the tour, around 15.00, lunch is organized at the camp. Return back to the hotel, Serbian night (dinner, performance of folklore, trumpet and acustic music), overnight.
After breakfast bus transfer to Perucac via Tara National Park. Boarding the boat, boat cruise through the Drina River Gorge, lunch on board (except in case of bad weather conditions, alternatively lunch in one of the restaurants in Bajina Basta). Continue towards Belgrade Airport according to flight schedule (evning flight – Turkish Airlines). Departure. End of the tour.
