Restaurant Klub Književnika (Eng. Writers’ Club) is more than an ordinary restaurant. It is a place of good food and legendary tales where once writers, diplomates, politicians, actors and other important people gathered. Founded in 1946, for this unordinary restaurant few decades ago the guests needed a membership card to visit it. And so the talk in Belgrade was that it was almost like a secret society. Today many things have changed but good food, excellent service and unforgettable atmosphere is still there.
More than one hundred and fifty years, the slope Venčac, Vrbické and Orašački hills were covered with vineyards. According to the first census, which is recorded as far back as 1898, Vrbica had eighty-four hectares of vineyards. 1903 years established and famous VENČAKA winemaking cooperative, unique in the Balkans, which in addition to three hundred thousand gallons's Manufacturing various wine products, and sparkling wines.
2003 years on the southern slopes Orašački and Vrbicé hill in a place that has always been called "Vineyards" emerged as the new vines and with them Winery Tarpos which also continues TRDICE of grape growing and winemaking in the region. Today Tarpos Winery has ten acres of vineyards, which are grown high-quality varieties of white and red grapes originating from France and produces about thirty thousand liters of wine per year. From the red varieties of grapes are grown Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and a game of white Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Chardonnay. In the heart of the vineyard is open a restaurant where with various specialties and serve wine wineries Tarpos.
Lets introduce Tarpos Wine, one of the productions of Vrbica Vinery:
Tarpos Barrique, dry red wine, made from grapes Merlot. A good combination of climate, location of the vineyard and land, to the production of modern technology, give this wine uniqueness and identity. It is characterized by closed ruby red color. The smell is clean, reminiscent of blackberry and ripe cherry. The taste is fruity, full, velvety soft, with good izmalansiranim acids and tannins and subtle tones barricades. It goes well with red meat, steak, steak, venison, especially rabbit, with barbecue and much more. Recommended serving temperature is 16 -17 C.
Besides Tarpos there are other nice wines named asTarpoš (Merlot barrique) , Orašac (Cabernet Sauvignon barrique), from white wines Vencac (Rizling Rajnski), Lipar (Sauvignon Blanc), Menuet (Chardonnay and Chardonnay barrique).
